7/8 Day 7

63 miles Richardson STate Park to Fortuna RV campsite

We awoke at 6am, left by 8am. We first did a Richards Simmons warm-up stretch routine through the campground. We were popular. We rode the AVe of the Giants detour route, which was great. WE saw the "World Famous" Chimney Tree and then the Eternal Tree HOuse, which we ate lunch at. We eventually biked into Fortuna by 7pm and camped out amongst RVs. It cost $27.50 for 3 of us, with a AAA card discount. Probably the last time we do that. Derek and Sarah played ukulele and sang...they're going on tour. We ended up talking to an alcoholic camper about his youth. When he was in junior year in college, for the summer, he hitch hiked up and down the Pacific Coast through Oregon and California, in 1970. That was a good time for that. He was drunk, probably because the EEl River Microbrewery was down the street.
