broken chain wheel, Yorkville, and the heat!

So three days into the trip, my aluminum chain ring snapped in half as I downshifted a little late starting up a steep hill outside of Cloverdale, CA. That spelled the end of my 28 tooth biopace, and I was a bit worried about all those hills we kept hearing about on the coast. Luckily, I got it replaced with a steel chain ring in Mendocino...Dave at Catch a Canoe (a canoe/bike shop) fixed it in about 1/2 hour and only charged me $28. Seemingly, when you need things they tend to fall out of the sky.
